On Chimichanga Avenue

When Paul was five they all moved out to Chimichanga Avenue
In the afternoons his father would drink beer on the porch
While Paul played with water in the gutter
In Summer the air was filled with dust kicked up by passing cars
Paul's mother made him wash his feet and face every single night
Though he grew up and he grew old
Paul never forgot the dust of Chimichanga Avenue
